Alexander Grouet holds a B.A. (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and an M.A. from Oxford University. Alexander is an Africa specialist who has advised heads of government and senior cabinet members in various West African states. A serial entrepreneur and policy analyst was also the manager of the Sub-Saharan Africa operations of Mira Networks, Africa's leading mobile content aggregator.

Dr Vusi Gumede obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Natal, Durban and was Chief Policy Analyst with The Presidency's Policy Coordination and Advisory Services since 2001 for the President of South Africa. He also lectures at the Graduate School of Public and Development Management at Witwatersrand University and serves on numerous boards and councils.Before joining the Presidency, he served as an economist in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and as Research Advisor for the United Nations Development Program in South Africa.

Mansoor Panawala holds and MBA from Harvard Business School and spent ten years at McKinsey & Company where he provided strategic advice to numerous Fortune 500 companies and top-tier financial sponsors on strategic and operational issues. Before joining McKinsey, Panawala spent over a year at Motorola in the Mobile Device strategy group, and over a year advising on international private equity transactions primarily in Turkey, the Middle East and South Asia. Mr Panawala also worked as a private equities advisor to the former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Malaysia, Dr Anwar Ibrahim.
Research Director
Nick Mitchell leads our in house research team. He graduated in 2004 from the University of Notingham with a BA Honours 1st Class in Politics and went on to read for an MA in International Politics and Research Methods from the University of Sheffield in 2006. Nick is particularly interested in issues surrounding UK foreign policy, the European Union and Westminster politics; he spends each day researching both online and print media along with other academic publications to ensure that senior executives within Ibrahim Associates are fully briefed on the latest political events.
